  • Brown vs Board of Education

    Brown vs Board of Education
    Made the declaration from Plessy vs Ferguson unconstitutional due to the 14th amendment. The segregation of schools between colored and whites have become unconstitutional.
  • Montgomery Bus Boycott

    Montgomery Bus Boycott
    It Began with Rosa Parks refusing to move to the colored section of the bus when a white man wanted to sit in her spot. It began a boycott of the bus system in Montgomery for the colored that would prevent the bus system from making good profit.
  • Little Rock Nine

    Little Rock Nine
    The Governor of Arkansas did not want the colored to attend any white high school. The national guard escorted nine black students to and from school to show the government's support for integrating schools. Done by President Eisenhower.
  • Greensboro Sit-ins

    Greensboro Sit-ins
    Sit-ins in Greensboro, North Carolina in department store chains and small restaurants. This was done to push the integration of the colored and blacks in public locations.
  • March on Washington

    March on Washington
    The large political rally to give jobs and freedom to the individuals who have been neglected for the past several years. It became a key movement in US History and allowed MLK to give his influential "I have a Dream" Speech.
  • Civil Rights Act of 1964

    Civil Rights Act of 1964
    Lyndon Johnson passes this after they became President. It allowed the public desegregation even if houses are still segregated.
  • Voting Rights Act of 1965

    Voting Rights Act of 1965
    It ended all the actions that prevented African Americans from voting rights that they got from the 15th amendment.
