    15th Amendment
    The 15th amendment granted black people thier citizenship. The 15th amendment won't be fully recongized until the end of a few decades. Former slaves had the right to vote and not allowing any discrimination against any other people. This was a big stepping stone, it was ratified 3, Feb. 1870.
  • Plessy V. Ferguson

    Plessy V. Ferguson
    This case is about equal but seperate. Plessy was sitting on a railroad in a white car. Plessy got arrested. Plessy lawyer argued that this law violates the 13th and 14th amendent. The case ended by saying it was constitutional as long as black and whites are seperated but have equal rights.

    In history people have woder who created the radio, this guy named Nikola Telsa created the radio. But their is another person Guglielmo Marconi took Telsa idea and he got credit for it. In 1901 was the first radio broadcasting. The radio did many things you listen to the presidents election.

    Henry Ford created the first automobile it was called Model T. This change the world dramaticly this was the first time people had traffic jams. The act of 1921 federal highways, this put gas stations around the world. People can go on vactions, this brought new jobs in the world.

    The Scope Trial was about a teacher teaching evolution. John Thomas Scopes, a substitute teacher violating the Bulter Act. The Butler Act was an act of forbiding the teaching of how we were created. The substitute was teaching the students that we were desended by apes. He got arrested for teaching this. This brought a lot of reporters and this was the first trial heard over the radio. He got fined 100 dollars. After a few years the Bulter Act was over.

    Charles Lindbergh was known for the first solo non- stop across the Atlantic. He called it the " Spirit of St. Louis" the first to be in New York one day, then be in Paris the next day. Lindbergh promoted commercial avitation and air mail service in the USA.

Many people made inventions that created the tv. a German guy named Paul Gottlieb Nipkow created a disc that transmitted cable. Tv was significant because people all over the world learned about different cultures.

    Grapes of Wrath is a book about who lived in the dust bowl, with self-discrimination. John Steinbech wrote this book. The title Grapes of Wrath is lyrics to a christian song. Grapes of wrath is about this family in the midwest trying to survive through the dust bowl.

    Rosie the Riverter was a campaign that started in World War 2. This campaign was to show women that they could work in factories. This was after the Japanese bombing in Pearl Harbor. This was a symbol of women rights working in factories, like what men do. This was a popular poster.

    This segergation law violated the 14th amendment. Earl Warren brought up this case. One year later the states starts to desegregation. There were some resistance with desegregation. People thought were overstepping their authority making a new law. The warren case stayed in court for 15 years. But eventually publics schools were with all races of students.

    The Montgomery boycott was caused by Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks is a very brave black women. Rosa Parks sat on a bus where only white people are suppose to sit.They asked her to move but she didn't so she got arrested. After that happen black people started to take a stand for their rights and deciced to not ride the bus. That is how the bus boycott started.

    The little rock nine wre the first nine black teenagers went to a white school. This was three years after the Brown v. Board of Education case, thought it was unconstitutional for black and whites be seperated in different schools. September 4, 1957 was the first day of school finally face black and white teenagers were in the same school. This was not pretty at all.They got threats and bullied, But eight out of nine of the teenagers graduated. The black teenagers won they graduated.
  • Greensboro Sit In

    This Greensboro sit-in was a planned sit-in. These 4 black college students siting at the bar, where only white people sit. They didn't move even when they got spit at, drinks poured on them, and even food thrown at them. Even after the police arrested them, other black people deciced to sit at the bar booth.

    Freedom Riders 6 white people and 6 black people riding around in a bus to show the Jim Crow laws. This effort to show the the Jim Crow laws was a big Civil Rights movement.. When the Freedom Riders stop at the Birmingham and a mob came after them.

    The 24th amendment is about ending poll tax for federal election. This was pointing at black voters. The 24th amendment was ratified when South Dakota became the constitution.
  • " I have a dream"

    " I have a dream"
    Dr. Martain Luther King Jr. wrote "i have a dream" speech. This is one of the most famous speech in history. This speech was about a dream that we could all live in this world in peace and equality and no segergation. A white guy named James Earl Ray shot and killed Martain Luther King Jr., Martain was standing outside of his motel when he got shot and killed.

    This civil act of 1964 was about not being descriminated by race, color and orgin in public environment. President Johnson was comitted to what President Kennedy was trying to do. On Febuary 10, 1964 this act went through. This movement that help our world.
  • Voting Rights Act of 1965

    In 1776 was the first step of African-American to get their rights to vote. But this only coverd black people who were free.This change the relationship with federal and state goverment. In this time period voting right act of 1965 was held in the sumpreme court, finally after the civil war black people got their rights to vote. Knowing they can vote they went to register to vote hindreds and thousands went to register.

    This Civil Rights Act was about housing rights no matter what your race is you should have equal rights to get the same kind of house if you are white or black. President Lyndon B. Johnson sign this act. Even though Johnson signed this act not every landlord will want to do it, they don't have to it will take time.

    Woodstock festival was a three day concert. It became an icon of the 1960's hippie conter culture. This festival was created by four men. The festival was in New York, they printed out tickets one day $7 second day $13 third day $18. They worked by organized by buying food, signing musician. Thousands of people came to the festival. After the festival the four men had 70 lawsuits against them. After every thing was paid off they were still in debt.
  • Earth Day

    U.S. Sen. Gaylord Nelson , from Wisconsin a democratic. Nelson didn't like how the eniviroment was going down. He wanted to go green. Nelson chose this student Denis Hayes and together they taught people about earth day. A magazine called earh day "one of the most remarkable happenings in history of democracy". This guy John McConell had a similar idea but went gobal. President Bill Clinton gave Nelson a medal for earth day.
  • Roe V. Wade

    Roe V. Wade
    In this case is about abortion being illegal or legal. Jane Roe brought this law because to have the abortion being illegal violates her constitutional rights. The law of abortion was it was it is illegal to abort a baby unless it is to save a mothers' life. The case ruled that the mother should be able to decice to abort or to keep the child.
