Chris began to be obsessed with racial oppresion in South Africa. He went on first prolonged journey in Yellow Datsun after graduating. Was accepted into Emory University in Georgia.

Cut off ties with his parents after finding out that his father had a sixth child with his second wife while being married to Chris's mom who was his fathers second wife.

He recieved a $40,000 gift for college. He co-founed the Emory Wheel, which was the college newspaper. Graduated Emory University in 1990 with a 3.72 GPA.

Reconnected with parents after graduation. Told his parents he was going to "disappear for awhile." Donated remaining $20,000 to OXFAM, an organization trying to end world hunger . Family last heard from Chris in June of 1990

Took his old Datsun and drove directly west. He then had to leave his Datsun because a flash flood soaked the engine. He also left most of his belongings in the car.

Chris started going by Alex Superstamp. With no money he began to work on a farm with a man who went by the name of Crazy Ernie. Turns out that Crazy Ernie was a con artist but as soon as he learned what he was he stole a bike and pedaled off.

After very difficult hitch hiking, Alex finally arrives in Fairbanks. Alex arrives at his final destination, the Stampede Trail.

After crossing the Teklanika River, knee deep at the time, Alex arrived at an abandoned bus sitting on the trail. He has a good six weeks of hunting and survives on squirrels and bunnies.

Chris was able to live the day to day aspects by hunting regulary. He ate potatoes everyday but in late July he ate a potato seed that protected with alkaloid. The alkaloid made it unable for Chris to get the nourishments from food and that is what led to his starvation.

Alex was took weak to get up to hunt, so he slowly starved in the bus.
He left a frantic note during his final days. -
Alex died and left behind a note stating that he has lived a very good life and he has no regrets. Only 19 days later did people stumble on the bus and found Chris's deceased body.
