    Shang Dynasty

    The Shang Dynasty is where the first written records of China date back to. This dynasty is famous for it's advances in mathematics and sciences. There was also evidence of advanced military technology utilizing bronze and horses. Their language was very similar to modern day Chinese. The fall of this dynasty was caused by the suicide of Di Xin in 1046 BC because he set fire to his palace.

    Confucious

    Confucious was a man who had many effects on China’s history and politics. In 498 BC, he was in exile due to the enemies he had made while in politics. However, in 483 BC he returned to China and taught many disciples with many teachings that became very popular and important. He passed away in 479 BC.

    Qin Dynasty

    Starting in 221 BC, the Qin Dynasty was a very interesting dynasty filled with many fascinating historical facts and amazing architecture. This dynasty saw the construction of The Great Wall of China, which is a four-thousand-mile-long wall with the purpose of a superhighway. This dynasty also saw the construction of the terracotta army, an army made of terracotta. This dynasty ended with the defeat of the Qin army by a warlord named Xiang Yu.

    The creation of this substance has led to many advancements throughout the centuries, many of which being military-related. Gunpowder was created by alchemists making medicine. This substance would later be used to propel arrows and fireworks during the Tang Dynasty.

    The second opium war was caused by European countries wanting to legalize opium, while China refused. This causes European countries to invade, and advance into Bejing. This war ended with China giving Western countries more power over China.

    The Shanghai Massacre happened because Chaing Kai-Shek ordered the executions of many people who were a part of the communist party. However, this causes the Communist party to retaliate, forming the Red Army. The Red Army is an army that the communist party formed for protection againt people with opposing views.

    The Great Leap Forward was an event led by Mao, the chairman of China. The Great Leap Forward was supposed to change the agriculture of China. However, this backfired, because it did not yield nearly as much as anticipated. This then caused fifty-six million people to die from anything from suicide to starvation.

    The death of Mao, who was also the chairman of China, was a very large event in China's history. He passed away due to a series of heart attacks that occurred. While Mao was in power, he saw the slaughter of forty million people, The Great Leap Forward, and The Cultural Revolution.
