    Deng Xiaoping participated in the historic emergency session on 7 August 1927 in which, by Soviet initiative the party dismissed its founder Chen Duxiu and Qu Qiubai became the secretary general.
    He was politically very active and helped to organize protests against Kuomitang authorities. August the 7th, 1927 was his first very important political event.

    The Long March
    The Long March was a military retreat undertaken by the Red Army of the Communist Party of China, the forerunner of the People's Liberation Army, to evade the pursuit of the Kuomintang army.
    Xiaoping was in events of November 1935, when shortly after settling in northern Shaanxi, Mao officially took over Zhou Enlai's leading position in the Red Army. Following a major reshuffling of official roles, Mao became the chairman of the Military Commission, with Zhou and Deng Xiaoping as vice-chairmen.

    The aim of this campaign was to courage Chinese people to critisize the Communist reign. This campaign was ended, because the Chinese society was extremely critical, literal and also went personal.

    This events aim was to increase Chinese economy rapidly, focusing on heavy industry, in order to lead China to modern communist ideal world.
    This event was a failure and led to negative affects on economy, agriculture ( which before was a main income in China) and also lead to the Great Famine. The casualties of the Great Leap Forward was approximately 30 million peasants.
    This policy lasted until 1962
  • Cultular Revolution

    Cultular Revolution
    It's aim was to remove traditional cultural elements from Chinese society and impose Maoist orthodoxy.
    Mao feared that the reformist economic policies of Deng and Liu could lead to restoration of capitalism and end the Chinese Revolution. For this and other reasons, Mao launched the Cultural Revolution in 1966(-1967), during which Deng fell out of favor and was forced to retire from all his positions.

    'Critisize Deng' campaign
    2.02.1976 the Central Committee issued a Top-Priority Directive, officially transferring Deng to work on "external affairs" and thus removing Deng from the party's power apparatus.
    On 3 March, Mao issued a directive reaffirming the legitimacy of the Cultural Revolution and specifically pointed to Deng as an internal, rather than external, problem. This was followed by a Central Committee directive issued to all local party organs to study Mao's directive and criticize Deng.

    Deng was restored to the posts of Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Military Commission and Chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army.

    Officially, Deng decided to retire from top positions when he stepped down as Chairman of the Central Military Commission in 1989, and retired from the political scene in 1992.
