"We had to face many difficulties: it is a community with a lot of crime, poverty, drugs, alcohol... When I was little and we played in the street, the shots from gang fights could be heard. It was not an easy childhood but it was not I would change it." And now he is one of the best rugby players in history. -
Cheslin Kolbe was born on October 28 on 1993 in Cape Town, Southafrica.

Represented Western Province at various youth levels, from the Under-16 Grant Khomo Week tournament in 2009 to the 2012 Under-21 provincial championship.

He was also a member of the Blitzboks (rugby sevens team) from 2012 to 2017 and won several titles, including the 2016–17 World Series.

He made his provincial first division debut in a Vodacom Cup match against Boland Cavaliers with the Stormers

In October 2014 he was part of the Western Province team that won the Currie Cup by beating the Golden Lions 19-16.

Kolbe is a cousin of South African track and field sprinter Wayde van Niekerk,who won the gold medal in the 400 metres at the 2016 Olympics and is the current 300m and 400m world record holder.

Kolbe moved to France to join Toulouse's Top 14 squad in the 2017-2018 season.

In 2019 Kolbe played for the Springboks winning The Rugby Championship 2019. Kolbe was part of the winning team of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, scoring a try late in the second half against England, therefore making the try winner.
