    Dispute between Mexican government and the Edwards brothers. Haden Edwards, who was an empresario, was entitled to settle 800 families, but the ones that didn't have proof of ownership were forced to leave, because of this, Mexican gov. cancelled it. This angered Haden, and he created the Republic of Fredonia that was separated from Mexico.

    The Guerrero Decree outlawed slavery in the Republic of Mexico, and it is said that it would slow the flow of American immigration, this could be because immigrants wanted slaves working for them and Mexico didn't allow it.
