Caroline's Personality Timeline

  • Birth

    Birth
I was born on this day and became a younger sister to my older brother Kyle. Because of my birth, my brother was no longer an only child. I became the second child which meant my brother had no more attention and my parents were more lenient with me than with my brother, which worked to my advantage. This theory and thought relates to Adler's thoughts on birth order.

    Learning to Walk
I learned to walk very late as a child and it took me until I was practically 2 to start walking. This is an example of Frued's Oral Stage because he would say I was too dependent and have no individuality because I crawl instead of walk.

    Bought my dog Sam
Getting a dog falls under the idea of John B. Watson's idea of reward and punishment. My brother and I had to clean around the house and promise to walk the dog in order to convince my parents to buy us our dog Sam.
  • Death of my Grandfather

    Death of my Grandfather
I grew up with only 3 grandparents since three of my grandparents were either dead before I was born or died within the first year and a half of my life. Once my last-living grandparent died, I used the defense mechanism of denial because I could not believe that all of my grandparents were now gone and I would never be able to visit them again.
  • Going to Ireland

    Going to Ireland
Going to Ireland with Strings Attached relates to Erikson's Stage 5 of Identity vs Identity Confusion because when I went to Ireland I experienced so many new things that I wasn't the same person when I came back. I finally found who I am and what my purpose was while in Ireland.
  • Becoming an NHS Member

    Becoming an NHS Member
Becoming a National Honor Society Member relates to Carl Roger's theory to strive and reach your ideal self in order to enhance your life. Being part of NHS is an honor and you have to work hard to become a member so I've demonstrated that I strive in order to be the best I can be.
  • Varsity Lacrosse Captain

    Varsity Lacrosse Captain
Becoming one of the Varsity Lacrosse Captains relates to Abraham Maslow's theory of bringing out your unique greatness and reaching your personal self-actualization. Since I was voted captain, I displayed a unique greatness and qualities that led my peers to vote for me.
