Beebot 2

Beebots

  • Engage

Introduce Beebot to students, allow to handle, name it, explore parts and functions. Discuss 'safety and care' factors
  • Period: to

    Beebots

Beebots task with preps and year 1
  • Explore

Students will use dress up wings and pretend they are bees on large 100 board to follow simple directions to get to beehive. introduce concept of forward, backwards, left and right.
  • Explore.

On a grid, students will use counters to make path from bees to honeypot using the least amount of counters. Repeat activity drawing arrows instead.
  • Explain

Use directional cards, grid and Beebots to create simple paths for Beebot to travel on. Introduce concept of algorithms and debugging.
  • Extend

Students progress to having Beebot go to 2 or 3 different positions on grid to visit 'friends' houses. Introduce concept of decomposing algorithms in order to debug.
  • Evaluate

Students create their own path, write algorithm using symbols and debug where necessary
