    What:Indians and mestizos started a revolution for independence and it turned into a big problem. "a class struggle".
    Where:In the Village Dolores,Guanajuato
    Why:Because they hated the Spanish control of high offices and monopolies.Also because the political and economic reforms by Spain.
    So What?This is important because mexicans were proud to be free and after they gained their independence they didn't have to worry about being controlled.
  • Texas Independence from Mexico

    Who:Mexican President and General Antonio Lopez
    What:They began war between the mexican government and settlers in Texas.
    Where:Coahuila Y Tejas
    Why:Becasuethe mexican president and General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna abolished the federal constitution of 1824 and proclaimed the more centrralizing 1825 constitution in its place.
    So what?Alot of lifes where lost because they wouldnt listen and didn't follow the rules of the agreement.

    Why:Mexico never wanted Texas as theirs but Polk wanted America to extend.
    So what?New Mexico is now twice as small and they were practically forced to give up their land.

    Who:Mexico and the U.S
    What:The two countries signed a treaty and Mexico had to give up almost half its territory.But in return U.S paid 15 million dollars.
    Where:Mexico and the United States
    Why:Because the U.S wanted the land and it would provide protection of property and civil rights to Mexicans,
    So what?This is important because after they signed the U.S nor mexicans could do what ever they wanted to do.Also because both countries lost something but they also gained something.

    Who:Preseident Franklin Pierce and James Gadsden
    What:He wanted to secure the land El Paso to fulfill railroad espansion on the west and the U.S claimed the south fork theirs and mexico the north fork.
    Where:The Mesilla Valley along the Rio Grande
    Why:It was a major step in resolving an outstanding Mexican American border.The purchase included Tucson in Arizona
    So What?Now Mexico and the U.S are divided by this border and their on their own.Now they dont have to get involved with one another.
