What: Fought for independence from Mexico.
Where: In San Antonio Texas, The Alamo
When:On October 7, 1835 to 1836
Why: They wanted to abolish slavery and immigration and taxes on foods.
So What: Texas joins the american county. -
Mexican-American War
Who: Mexico and the U.S
What: The Mexican-American war.
Where: It happend mostly in Mexico.
When: During the 1840's.
Why: Because the U.s wanted more land.
So what: Mexico fought back and commanded forces against the U.s. -
Treaty Of Guadalupe Hidalgo
Who: Mexico makes a treaty whi the U.s.
What: This treaty gave the U.S rights to the texas land.
Where: All the texas land.
When: On February 2, 1848
Why: Because the U.S won the war.
So What: Mexico gives up land Arizona, California, New Mexico, Texas, and a part of Colorado. The U.S pays 15 million for this land. -
The Gadsen Purchase
Who:The Messilla Valley.
What: The Gadsen Purchase
Where: 30,000 square miles south of the Gila River
When: In 1853
Why: Because President Franklin wanted a railroad expansion to the west.
So What: The U.S paid 10 million dollars dor this land Resolving the Mexican border problem.
