In 1901 a policy was created only allowing white people to enter Australia. They would not allow non-Caucasians to immigrate there. This was the Immigration Restriction Act. -
In the 1900s separations between the Aborigines and British were official. Many of them didn't know their origins. In 1967 the government began to pass legislations to help The Aborigines.

In 1986 the Australia Act stated all legal ties with with the British Empire were served. Today it's known as a Parliamentary Democracy. In 1999 55% of the population disagreed on becoming an independent country.
