    in 1868, an australian aboriginal team went to england and became the first tour with a team made up entirely of aboriginals. this event is actualy extremely important as its the first ever people who lived in australia who are for the first time representing us so it means alot to communities all over australia.

    rugby was established in 1895 in northern england.

    the bledisloe cup was first played in 1931 between australia and newzealand which are 2 very proud countries. australia has won the bledisloe cup 12 times which is a big thing for us condidering that rugby union is newzealands favourite and most played sport. i think it has changed the way we look at rugby in australia and many other sports because it shows we can hold our own against other countries.

    the first ever world series cricket tournament in australia was started going from 1977 -1978. one day cricket amd cricket under light is introduced.

    the first state of origin is an annualy played set of games played over 3 weeks between nsw and queensland. the first state of origin was played in 1980 and was taken out by nsw. i think that the state of origin has a major impact as pretty much everyone in australia watches it every year and it really gets everyone excited to watch the vbest of the best in australia play!.

    i think that the super league war actualy had quite a big impact on rugby league today because if it didnt happen there would be no national rugby league today which would mean that there would be many unplayed championships and cups between australia and other cuntries.

    in 2002, a young man named steven bradbury won a gold medal at the winter olympic games for the 1000 metre speed skate meaning that he had won the first ever australian gold medal for the speed skate event and the first ever speed skate event in the entire southern hemisphere. i think that this event has a great meaning for australia because it shows that even the underdogs can win and that because it was his first time making it so far so it makes it such a great achievement for us all.
