When the first fleet landed they created two colonies. One was called New South Wales and the other was called New Holland.

In 1825 they discovered Van Diemens Land also known as Tasmania. New South Wales became bigger and New Holland became smaller.

In 1831 they changed the name from New Holland to Western Australia.

In 1836 they made South Australia a colony.

They took some of New South Wales to make North Australia.

Victoria was made a colony in 1851 and North Australia was removed.

Queensland became a colony and took space from NSW. Van Diemans land became Tasmania and South Australia became smaller.

South Australia becomes a bit bigger and it takes away some of NSW.

South Australia takes away a lot of New South Wales and Queensland becomes slightly bigger.
