In 1788 when the first fleet landed Australia was divided in to 2 boundaries New Holland and New South Wales.

In 1825 New South Wales was push further and a part of New South Wales was named Van Diemen's land. They sent the convicts there if they made crimes in New South Wales.

In 1831 they renamed New Holland to Western Australia and sent the convicts in New South Wales there.

In 1836 South Australia was established and took the southern part of New South Wales

In 1847 they renamed the Northern part of New South Wales North Australia.

In 1851 they got rid of North Australia and created Victoria and they started bringing large flocks of sheep to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania).

In 1859 Queensland was created by continuing the eastern South
Australian border north and separating it from New South Wales.
