    The idea of a federation of the six Australian colonies was occasionally debated among Australian politicians, officials and others from about 1850 onwards. I chose this date because the six colonies started it and finished it.

    Sir Henry Parkes was elected to the New South Wales legislative council in 1854. I chose this date because I know that sir Henry Parkes has a lot to do with federation so I decided to start with him

    On July 6 1863 Queen Victoria signed Letters Patent that said it had been previous unnamed part of new South Wales as the Northern Territory of South Australia.
    The south Australian Government suggested to pause the first land sales in 1864 and prepare a Bill- (start to introduce laws) it was correctly known as the Northern Territory.
    I chose these dates because I believe without laws there is no good in this world

    An inter-colonial conference was held in Sydney to talk about the individual problem of customs job. Colonies such as New South Wales believed in free trade, because Victoria supported a 'protectionism policy-which is where they are protected of their country because of outsiders.' Which was The Premier of New South Wales, Sir Henry Parkes, was responsible for the idea of creating a council. I chose this date because free trade is sometimes good when coming to deals.

    The first practical step towards federation was the creation of the federal (group of people who advise or govern) of Australasia in 1885. In met more than two but not a lot of times between 1886 and 1899, but it had no executive powers, New South Wales remained uninterested and it was generally ineffective. I chose this because I didn’t understand why New South Wales weren’t interested.

    Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee of 1887 marked a limited return to public view following her total aloneness after her husband’s death in 1861. She assumed the title (Empress of India) following (royal titles bill) her son prince of Wales had visited India that same year.
    I chose this date because it showed that people noticed what had happened so it has an effect on not only her but others too.

    Realising that the federal council is unable to do what they do, Sir Henry Parkes made a second attempt at federation.
    On the 24th of October 1889 at the Tenterfield School of Arts he made a speech which interested the national government.

    On the 6th of February 1890 deputies from each of the colonial parliaments as well as the New Zealand parliament crossed paths at the Australasian Federation Conference in Melbourne. The conference explained that the interests and prosperity of the Australian colonies would be severed by the queen of England, to draft a constitution for the commonwealth of Australia. I chose this because I believe the queen should be part of somehow or another.

    The members of the National Australasian Convention met in Sydney from the 2nd of March to the 9th of April did not debate whether the colonies should federate or not. but later on they found a way to draft a constitution to agree on and take back for discussion. I chose this date because everyone has an onion so you can’t just fight for your own you have to compare with others even if they are the same level of qualification.

    On the 1st of August 1893 the federation league rally was held in Corowa. Throughout the men who were there were, Dr Quick who introduced the step process to archive a federal constitution, and Robert Garran the new leader of the federalists in New South Wales at the time. That’s when Henry Parkes could not attend because of sickness.
    Dr Quick moved that the Australian people themselves would vote for federation.

    In 1895 the premiers agreed that another convention should be held with the people who do things for other people directly chosen by the electors. I chose this date because that they should agree on anything they need to work together.

    1897 the elections were held on the 4th of march in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania and on the 6th in South Australia the premiers from each state announced that the federation will commence. I chose this date because I thought this is the date before it was all federation was announced.

    On 17 March 1898, New South Wales politician and leader of the convention, (Edmund Barton) moved that the draft Constitution be adopted by the convention and accepted. The people of Australia voted on the constitutional referendums help in each colony. I chose this ate because Edmund Barton brought the people of Australia to vote on the constitutional.

    In 1900 delegates from the six colonies met Joseph Chamberlain, the Secretary of State for the Colonies.The negotiations resulted in a few slight amendments and the Constitution Bill was then passed by the British ParliamentA proclamation was signed by the Queen on 17 September 1900 that on 1 January 1901 the six colonies would be united the name of Commonwealth of Australia. I chose this date because I know that this is the date before it all began. this is Australian Federation.
