The Dutch explore Australia
The Dutch were actually the first to explore Australia. Australia was never a Sutch colony. The Dutch were not interested in Australia although they charted three quarters of the coast. They were the first documented Europeans to land in Australia. -
The French Interest
The French came over to Australia around the to,e that the Brirish came over. Britan got suspicious and quickly sent over some explores to take the land. The British quickly made the land part of Britan. -
The first fleet arrives in Australia.
Captain Cook and his 11 ships arrive in Australia and claimed the land part of Britan. The plant the glad of Britan on the land, claiming it their land. The pushed the local Aboriginal people out of the land and called it New Holland. They started to build a colonisation for the convicts. -

Convicts start to come over
Convicts started to come over during the time. They would do their working, and they would have to work hard. If they worked well, the became a ticket of leave man. In the start, women could not be convicts, but they came over with their husband or brother, or whoever was coming over. When the worker became a ticket of leave man, the were free to go and have their own lives. -
The European Colonialisation
This was when the British came over to stay in Australia. Some of the people were Convicts,and Free settlers. They pushed the local Aboriginals out of the land and started to build farms and buildings. The Aboriginals did not want the new people to take their land. -
World War One
This war the first war when most of our world came together and joined forces against each other. The two main country's were France against Germany. There was many small wars in between this one big war. Many family's lost loved ones. This war was a very sad and depressing war. It was very hard on family's. -
The Australian Gold Rush
People from all over the world came to Bathust Australia for this event. They came to dig for gold and hopefully strick it rich, but many did not, and many died from diseases. Men did the digging and the women did house work and looked after the children. Many family's did not get much Gold, in fact lots did not get any, but a few get lucky and made a fourtune out of it. -
The Great Depression
This was a time when jobs and life was hard for Australia.Many family's lost jobs and could not afford many things. The food market crashed. Many family's were kicked out of their house. This was not a good time in our history. It was a devestating time period. -
World War Two
This is the most recent war. My Grandmas uncle went to this war and many other people like her had their family members go to war. Th war was between the Allie and the Axis. This war included the bombing on Japan. It was a tragic war. Lots of innocent people died.
