Hobart
In 1803 the British set up a new Settlement and called it Hobart in Tasmania. -
Mathew Flinders
Mathew Returns from his voyage around New South Wales and New Holland and he suggests that the land should be called Australia. -
Lachlan Macquarie
In 1810 Lachlan Macquarie became governor of New South Wales. He remained as the governor so little over a decade. He thought that it would be good for the Aboriginals to learn how to live like the white settlers.
