    The Resolution sailed from the Nore and from Plymouthon . The Resolution anchored in Table Bay. Cook kept on having voyages and discovereing many places.

    He was murdered by natives of Hawaii during his third visit to the Pacific Island group. As they entered Hawaii, they were fascinated by the European ships and their use of iron. After on of the lesser Hawaiian chiefs was shot, a mob of hawaiians descended on his party. During this battle, Cook was shot.

From England, the Fleet sailed southwest to Rio de Janeiro, then east to Cape Town and via the Great Southern Ocean to Botany Bay, arriving in mid-January 1788, taking 250 to 252 days from departure to final arrival.

    Settlement of seven vessels and 636 people was temporarily made at Kingscote on Kangaroo Island, until the official site of the colony was selected where Adelaide is currently located. South Australia is the only Australian state to be settled entirely by free settlers.
