    It made Australia seem like it’s an unethical and rascist country, making many countries look down opon Australia, effecting trade. It also affected the modern worlds view of how Australia has matured and changed into a multi-cultural country that it is today.
  • Wall Street Crash

    Wall Street Crash
    The Wall street crash in 1929 caused a worldwide economic collapse, leading to the Great Depression. Australia’s economy was effected greatly as the price of the exported goods (wool, iron, etc) outside Australia would have been greatly dercreased, resulting in Australia having a poorer economy, and lower living standards were created. It also affected the modern world as 3000 banks were closed and 20,000 companies went bankrupt, this could of destroyed valuable ideas for the modern world and

    Anschluss between Germany and Austria
    It was the first vital step for Germany to re-gain the land that they had lost after World War 1, giving them more power in WW2, something that would prove to be a key aid in trying to defeat the Allies, of which Australia was apart of. Making the job of trying to defeat the Germans harder. It also affected the modern world’s view on how important it is to not let certain countries gain power, after major conflicts.

    Pearl Habour was what made the USA join WW2, creating a fiery battle in the Pacific. This gave the Australian population more hope of not being invaded by the Japanese, as the USA was fighting for the Pacific. This affected the modern world as it showed the USA that they were vulnerable to attack.

    Nagasaki Atomic Bombing
    Nagasaki Atomic Bombing stopped the war in the pacific, it forced the Japanese to surrender to the USA, if they had not been stopped they could’ve invaded Australia, resluting in many thousands of people being killed, and Australia belonging to Japan. It affected the modern world as many countries now have nuclear weapons and that has caused major countries having superior power over others.

    This scheme brought in many immigrints from many different countires around the world, increasing the working population in Australia and making Australia more culturaly diverse in the eyes of the modern world.

    This created tension between the two super powers the USA and the USSR, this made the whole world scared of nuclear war including Australia. Affecting the modern worlds opinion of nuclear warfare as something that should be prevented at all costs.

    The 1967 Referendum proposed to include Aboriginal people in the census; this made the aboriginal people in Australia feel like they belong more. It sparked something new, a change the view of how Australians treat aboriginals in the eyes of the modern world.

    They are what caused the USA to start the war on terrorism in Afganistan, of which Australia had to join them. It also made the modern world realise how vunerable everyone was to terrorism.

    They showed how vulnerable Australians were to terrorist attacks, and also showed the modern world the true horror that Islamic extremists could bring.
