  • First Fleet Arrives

    First Fleet Arrives
    In 1788 the First Fleet of the British settlement arrived at Botany Bay, Australia which began the British Settlement, however they deemed this area un-suitable for settlement so they travelled up Australia's East coast landing at Port Jackson on January 26th, 1788.
  • French Revolution

    The French Revolution was a period of time were the French ciztizens rebelled due to a number reasons, one being that the Controller Genera Of Finances (Charles-Alexandre de Calonne) decided to get out of the debt they were in the French leaders would tax the citizens to get out of it which then partly led to the Revolution.

    The Industrial Revolution started in England and was a period of time from the late 18th Century to the start-mid 19th century. In this time period the Advancement in machinery was so rapid England couldn't keep up and it all started in the textile factories. These advancement had thing like farming had been made easier thanks to machines that could do it instead.

    In the 1800's Alessandro Volta invented the first ever battery after extensive experiments he developed the Votaic Pile (modern day Battery). He invented this using over 40 different elements . The reason they are called 'Volts' is because they named it after Volta's last name.

    Joseph Nicéphore Niépce was the first person to ever take a photograph he acheived this by setting up the small object called a camera obscura in his window. It took the camera eight hours to take the photograph

    In Bathurst, Australia 1851 Edward Hargraves found gold in a waterhole that led to one of the biggest events in Australia's history the Gold Rush, this event changed Australia in many ways e.g. Technology, Population, lifestyle etc.

    Alexander Graham Bell in 1876 invented the 'eletrical speech machine' or what we now call the Telephone, Bell had always been interested in the education of Deaf people, first he had invented the microphone which then led to the Telephone in 1876.     In 1879 Thomas Edison after trailling with thousands of different filaments and along with some small different contributions in the years before that led up to this he invented a light bulb that could last around 40 hours, this invention then led to him creating a light bulb to last over 1500 hours.

    On April 14th What everyone believed was un-sinkable Steamship crashed into an iceberg and sunk killing 1517 people with it carrying 2223 people altogether. The ship hit the iceberg in the North-West Atlantic Ocean.

    World War 1 first began when Germany and Britan declared war upon each other, this then brought many other countries part of the battle including Australia, Italy, Japan, China, America and many more. This only created more problems and an estimated 37 million people dieing.
