Birth Date
I live in the country side of Yangshuo, China near the Dragon River. I helped my family make rice on the hills of our property. It is hard work and we didn't make much money for the hard work we did. I didn't have a lot of friends that live near me, than again barely anyone lived near us. We used our donkeys to get to the town, pulling our cart. I take sword lessons down in the town so I know how to defend myself. I bought my own sword too. -
Angel Island
My family decided that we are moving to the United States so they can get better jobs with more money. We took a ship over, when we arrived at Angel Island I was amazed at how many people were in line waiting for a new life. We stood in line for 4 hours waiting to get an exam and asked questions. The doctor wore gloves to flip my eyelids, very weird feeling. He checked for the disease under them and thankfully, no disease. I was glad that I could get back on actual ground. -
Next Day
My family told me I am going to live on my own, I'm fine with that. I found a nice little house a few miles outside of San Francisco, it doesn't have much land but that's alright because won't be using that land for anything. There is a guy that looks the same age as me that helps out the older couples. When I go out to run around the neighborhod, I usually see him outside helping someone at a different house. I got a job in a sewing factory. We make clothes for almost everyone. -
San Francisco Earthquake
This earthquake scared me so bad. I was sleeping and it woke me very violently and abrupt. It stopped after a second or two and about took my whole house down. Most of the city could be heard crashing down into large chunks of stone, brick and steel. I looked outside and saw 7 fires blazing, and my own house destroyed, No more earthquakes please! -
Marriage
Me and that guy I liked,Frank Welterman, got married. He told me he liked me too. We got married in the church down the road and his family and mine were there. He has a big family, they all welcomed me and told me to be good with Frank. We bought a house on near a big woods. It is a great size for two people to live in together. Frank hunts the local game for us to eat, he goes out every other week to make sure we are good for the winter. -
Bye Frank
Frank was out hunting when a pack of wild wolves came out and attacked him. A neighbor was stalking deer when he hear screaming and howling, he rushed over and scared the wolves away. I can't go on without my husband. His funeral was today and his family and mine were there to comfort me through this tough time of grief. I am going to live alone now. I still have company come over, just not as much as it used to be.
