    An art movement that emulated the grandeur and grace of the Greco-Roman era.

    Began with the Enlightenment era and came to an end during the industrial revolution. (1750-1850)
  • American Revolution

    American Revolution
    A war of independence fought between the American Colonists and the British Empire. The conflict began when the British began to unfairly tax the citizens and revoked thier right to assembly. The colonists declared thier independence. The british reacted in force and the conflict rose into a major war that lasted until 1783 peace treaty. The Americans were aided by the French towards the end of the war which lended its naval power and arms to aid the colonists to victory.

    As well as being one of the leading french painters of the time David also served on governmental committes during the French revolution.
