    Pre-Historic Art

    The prehistoric time period had many different types of artworks to be seen. The most used form of art during this time was cave painting or carvings.

    Ancient Egypt

    Ancient Egyptians had many painting on their walls. Most of the time these paintings depicted dieties that the ancient Egyptians believed in.

    Ancient Greece

    In ancient Greece the people would often use pottery as a form of art. Many artists at the time would depict battles or myths on these pottery pieces

    The Middle Ages

    The middle ages is the time period that art was mainly used to depict the bible and religious figures in paintings and drawings

    Renaissance

    The Renaissance time period is when drawing became a more respected art form because of the invention of paper. This period also introduced the fascination in depicting the natural world. Artists also started using new materials such as charcoal and chalk. Finally, portraiture became very popular during this time period.
  • Baroque Period

    Water colors and ink washes were a new and popular art form to use during this time. People also were given access to a sketchbook that would allow them to not have to rely on their memory to paint a scene.
  • 1800-1900's Art

    This is the time when a lot of art movements started to sprout. Movements such as Impressionism, Expressionism and Fauvism started to happen.
