    The missions of Apollo going from 1961-1972. The apollo missions were 1, 7, 8, 9,10,11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17.
  • Apollo 1

    Apollo 1
    Apollo 1 was on the launch pad at Cape Kennedy durring a test flight. It was supposed to be the first crewed mission of the apollo project. Virgil Grissom, Edward White, and Roger Chaffee were the crew and on board when a fire swept through the command moudule, they all died tragically in the fire.

    Apollo 7
    Apollo 7 was the first manned mission to succeed. The crew was Walter M. Schirra was the commander, Donn F. Eisele was the command module piolet, and R. Walter Cunningham he was the lunar module piolet. They went to space to build confidence and it was a test flight.

    Apollo 8
    Apollo 8 was the second manned mission of in the apollo program. They went into space to to test the preformance of the crew and the command of the spacecraft. The crew was Frank F. Borman II was the commander, James A. Lovell, jr. was the command module pilot , and William A. Anders was the lunar module pilot. They were the first crew to go beyond earths orbit.

    The main objective of apollo 9 was an earth orbital engreneering test of the the first crewed lunar module. Conncurent prime objectives included an over all check out of launch vehical and space craft systems, the crew and procegers. The crew was James A. Mcdivitt who was the commander, Russell L. Schweickart he was the lunar module piolet, and David R. Scott who was the command module piolet.

    The Apollo ten mission found all aspects of an crewed lunar landing on the moon, exept for the landing. It was the first successful crewed apollo spacecraft to oporate around the moon. Objectives included a sceduled 8 hour orbit around the moon of the seperated lunar module. The crew was Thomas Stafford who was the commander, Eugene Cerman he was the lunar module piolet, and John Young who was the command module piolet.

    Apollo 11 was the first apollo mission to land on the moon. Aboard the spacecraft was Neil armstrong, Michael Collins, Edwin E., and Aldrin Jr. At 3:17 p.m. on July 20, 1969 the fist manmade spacecraft landed on the moon and short after the first step on the moon.

    Apollo 12 was planned to be the second lunar landing mission with extensive test and exploration tasks. They also went to reterive the exploration package that was left there from apollo 11. The crew was Charles Conrad jr. he was the commander, Alan l.Bean was the lunar module pilot, Richard F. Gordon jr. was the command module pilot.

    Apollo 13 was sent into space to land on the fra mauro area. But an explosive on board forced the spacecraft to orbit the mooon without landing. james a. lovell jr. and he was the commander, fred w. haise jr. who was the lunar module pilot, and john l. swigert jr. the command module pilot.the quote "houstan we have a problem." came from the mission.

    Apollo 14 was the reasigned mission of apollo 13. The same crew went into space andlanded on the moon. The crew spent 33 hours on the moon just to get samples.

    Apollo 16
    Apollo 16 went to the moon to get more samples of soil and rock. The crew was John W. Young who was the commander, Charles M. Duke Jr. he was the lunar module piolet, and Thomas K. Mattingly II who was the command module piolet. They spent 72 on the moon getting samples.
