    Landing Coordinates: 0.71 degrees North, 23.63 degrees East 1 EVA of 02 hours, 31 minutes. Flag and instruments deployed; unveiled plaque on the LM descent stage with inscription: "Here Men From Planet Earth First Set Foot Upon the Moon. July 1969 A.D. We Came In Peace For All Mankind.

    Landing site: Ocean of Storms.
    3.04 degrees South, 23.42 degrees West Retrieved parts of the unmanned Surveyor 3, which had landed on the Moon in April 1967. Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP) deployed. Lunar surface stay-time, 31.5 hours; in lunar orbit 89 hours, with 45 orbits. LM descent stage impacted on Moon. 34kg (75 lbs) of material gathered.

  • Apollo 13

    Apollo 13
    Apollo 13 was the third Apollo mission intended to land on the Moon. The craft was successfully launched toward the Moon, but the landing had to be aborted after an oxygen tank ruptured. The astronauts were James Lovell, John Swigett, and Fred Haise. It launched on April 11, 1970, and returned on April 17. NASA called it a succesful failure. It was one of the most famous Apollo missions.

  • Apollo 14

    Apollo 14
    Apollo 14 was the 3rd Apollo mission to land on the moon after Apollo 13 failed due to a rupture in an oxygen tank. The astronauts on this flight were Alan Sheppard Jr., Stuart Roosa, and Edgar Mitchell. It launched on January 31st, 1971, landed on February 5th, and returned on February 9th.

  • Apollo 15

    Apollo 15
    Apollo 15 was the 9th Apollo mission and the 4th to land on the moon. It was also the first mission to use the Lunar Rover. The astronauts on this mission were David Scott, Alfred Wordon, and James Irwin. It launched on July 26, 1971, it landed on July 30th, and returned on August 7th.

    Apollo 16
    Apollo 16 was the 5th Apollo mission to land on the moon and the first to land on the highlands area of the moon. The astronauts on this mission were John Young, Kenneth Mattingly Jr., and Charles Duke Jr. It launched on April 16th, 1972, landed on April 20th, and returned on April 27th.

  • Apollo 17

    Apollo 17
    The last lunar landing mission. Landing site: Taurus-Littrow, highlands and valley area.. The first study of highlands area. There were three EVAs of 22 hours, and 4 minutes. Evans performed trans-Earth EVA lasting 1 hour and 6 minutes. Harrison H. Schmitt became the first scientist-astronaut to land ont he Moon. The sixth automated research station was set up on the Moon.
