    William celebrated his eleventh birthday at Windsor Castle. Always a delicate child, he complained of feeling unwell the following day and tragically, his condition continued to deteriorate. His mother kept an agonizing vigil at his bedside, he died at around 1 a.m. on 30 July, 1700, with both his parents at his bedside.

    The Battle of Oudenarde was a battle in the war of the Spanish Succession between the forces of Great Britain, the Dutch Republic and the Holy Roman Empire on the one side and those of the France on the other. It took place in Outdenarde, now known as Belgium and was a great victory for the allies.

    It's purpose was to prevent Nonconformist and Roman Catholics from taking "occasional" communion in the Church of England in order to become eligible for public office under the Corporation Act 1661 and the Test Act. Under this Act only members of the Church of England were allowed to hold any office of public trust. The 1711 Act was repealed in 1719.

The treaties between several European states, including Spain Great Britain, France, Potugal, Savoy and the Dutch Republic helped end the war.

    Anne died August 1, 1714, the last Stuart monarch to rule England. Her health had declined to the point that she was often bedridden. Doctors attending her tried to cure her with bleeding, applying hot irons, and other cures of the time. She was succeeded by George I, who was a great-grandson of James I.
