    Anne Hutchinson was born in Alford, England. As a child, anne questioned the religious teachings of her father who was a deacon in the Church of England. Anne and her husband followed Protestant Minister John Cotton to New England.

    Anne was baptised on July 20th, 1591. Shortly after she was born. Anne was baptisted in Alford, Lincolnshire, England where she had also been born. She was the daughter of Francis Marbury and Bridget Dryden.

    In 1605, when Anne was 14, the family moved from Alford to London. In London, her father was given the position of vicar of the Church of Saint Martin's in the Vintry. Her father was strong of his religion. This also encouraged Anne to become who she was too.

    She settled in Cambridge in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. She there began organizing meetings of Boston women in her home. Anne lead them in discussions of recent sermons and religious issues.Soon after these meetings ministers and magistrates began attending her sessions as well.

Both men and women were attending her meetings by now which caused her religion to start growing. During her meetings she would often stress the idea that salvation was gained with inner faith. Some didnt believe in her and thought she was just antinomianism (term that describes a christain that doesn't want to follow the law).

    John Winthrop was not happy about Anne when she went around preching her religion strongly. In court, she was charged for "a thing not tolerable nor comely in the sight of God, nor fitting for you sex." She was also charged for breaking the 5th amendment of the right to be free unless indicted by a grand jury, the right to due process, the prohibition of double jeopardy, and the right not to testify. against one’s self. Anne had a chance but at end spoke unwisely.

    Before leaving Boston, William Hutchinson and other supporters of his wife signed an instrument. Sometimes called the Portsmouth Compact. It was agreement to form a non limited government that was Christian was allowed. It helped Anne and her supporters to seek religious freedom in Rhode Island.

    Because of Anne's outspoke of her religious belief, she was banished. She had a court hearing that was allowed by the 5th ammendent of the Constitution. But Anne reuined his chances when saying that God had spoken to her. She had a chance of not being guilty after he message from God.

    Anne Hutchinson was killed in somewhere in the vicinity of Split Rock in New Netherlands. During this era Kieft's War was going on. Native Americans were killing and Anne's family was an easy target. The Native Americans killed everyone in her family but one sister.

    After 350 years Anne gets pardoned of her banishment. Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis pardons her of this. He rovokes Governor Winthrop decision of this from 350 years earlier. This is one of the most recent of Anne's happenings.
