  • Anne Frank and her family had to move into the secret Annex

    There was a call up notice for Anne and her family to go back to Germany. The next day, they went into hiding in the Annex which was above the Otto's office.This type of event is the turning point because Anne's life won't be the same as it used to and it connect to the theme because moving into the Annex helped teach Anne to view the bright side of things and the theme no matter what situation you're in, your experiences will help you grow and mature.
  • The Van Daan's move in with the Frank's

    Mr. Van Daan helped Mr. Frank out in Germany, so in return he asked him and his family to stay with them in the Annex. This is character development because the people in the Annex also affect how Anne's life in the Annex would turn out. They're actions would teach and affect Anne's perspectives in the Annex.
  • Mr. Dussel moves into the Secret Annex

    When Mr. Dussel joined the Annex, he had to share a room with Anne. This causes Anne to become quickly annoyed because they had to share the same writing desk. This is event was character development because Anne learns that things don't always get to go the way she wants them to. This connects to the theme because she is able to grow from her experience with Mr. Dussel.
  • Anne reflects how he felt about Peter.

    At first, Anne meets Peter to be obnoxious, lazy and annoying, but as time went on, she learned he wasn't so bad and eventually started to like him. She then later on reflects that she created an image of Peter she liked and she didn't truly like him for him. She was just lonely. This event is character development which connects to the theme since love is a big part of your life as you get older so this proves that she's gotten more mature at this point in the story.
  • Anne's Last Entry

    At the beginning of the story, Anne seemed to be a talkative person with the passion for writing. By the end of the book, Anne starts to feel worse and worse. She ends up hating her life in the Annex and feels alone. She thinks she's hated by everyone and her life just fell apart.
