Bombing and gunshots are heard outside the Secret Annexe. Turkey joins the war but then it's just a false alarm. The people in the Annex hear noises downstairs. Rauter makes a speech saying Jews need to be cleared out.

Burglars broke into the house and cut a whole in the warehouse. A couple on the street saw the burglars and called the police. The police came to the house and searched the house for burglars and almost found the place where the Franks were hiding.

Someone outside the Annex heard them and turned them in to the Gestapo and the people in the Annex were taken to Bergen-Belsen, a concentration camp in northern Germany. In March 1945, the Frank sisters died of typhus.
