Henry viii beomes king

A short Bio before he was king: Henry was a lord before he was a king, and a very religious person, he used his money on wars fo the church, and that is why later on he is conflicted on divorsing his wife, he was a very educated person. In 1493, at the age of two, Henry was appointed Constable of Dover Castle and Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. He was subsequently appointed Earl Marshal of England and Lord Lieutenant of Ireland aged three, and was inducted into the Order of the Bath soon after.

King Henry viii married Catherine of Aragon

King Henry viii divorces Catherine of Aragon

month and day are not specified. Catherine was not able to conceive a boy and so Henry got frustrated with her and soon fell in love with Anne Boleyn.

Henry viii marries Anne Boleyn

2. Her mother, Anne Boleyn, was accused of adultery and incest and was beheaded at the Tower of London
3. Princess Elizabeth lived with her stepmother Katharine Parr and her husband Thomas Seymour - she was sent away in disgrace amid rumours that she was having an affair with Seymour!
4. Queen Elizabeth I Died on 24 March 1603 (of blood poisoning) - she was nearly70 years of age
5. Second Queen to rule England.

first act of supremacy 1534

The Act of Supremacy of November 1534 was an Act of the Parliament of England under King Henry VIII declaring that he was "the only supreme head on earth of the Church in England" and that the English crown shall enjoy "all honours, dignities, preeminences, jurisdictions, privileges, authorities, immunities, profits, and commodities to the said dignity."[1] The wording of the Act made clear that Parliament was not granting the King the title. With the act they completely abondoned Rome.

Henry viii marries Jane Seymour

May 30, 1536

facts:
1. She was not educated as highly as Henry's previous wives, Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn. She could only read and write her name.
2. Jane and Henry were married 10 days after Anne’s execution.
3. After Henry died he was buried beside her.
4. Jane put forth much effort to restore Henry's first child, Mary Tudor.
5. Henry waited three years to marry after Janes death.

Edward vi is born

Jane Seymour dies

Jane got really sick after giving birth to edward and died two weeks after his birth.

Henry viii marries Anne of Cleves

1. Anne was a German noblewoman.
2. She learned to read and write, but in German only.
3. Anne was Queen of England for only 6 months.
4. Henry and Anne became good friends and she was referred to as the king’s beloved sister.
5. She outlived all of Henry's other wives.

Marriage between Henry viii and Anne of Cleves dissolves

King Henry had no attraction to Anne of Cleves and they only married to solve a political dispute, but it was inevitable for they soon seperated.

Henry viii marries Kathryn Howard

facts:
1. Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard were first cousins.
2. Henry was 30 years older then her.
3. Henry referred to her as a rose without a thorn.
4. Catherine found her marital relations with Henry unappealing.
5. Catherine was the second wife Henry had executed.

Kathryn Howard is executed

She was beheaded for having affairs with other men while still in marrige with Henry.

Kathirine Parr marries Henry viii

facts:
1. Her mother, Lady Maud, was an attendant of Catherine of Aragon.
2. She was the first English Queen Consort to enjoy the new title Queen of Ireland following Henry's adoption of the title King of Ireland.
3. Catherine was partially responsible for reconciling Henry with his daughters.
4. Catherine outlived Henry.
5. After the death of Henry, Catherine was able to marry her old love, Thomas Seymour, the eldest brother of Jane Seymour.

Interesting facts:
1. Was king of England and Ireland (from 1547-1553) becam king at 9 years old.
2. He died of a fever and cough that gradually worsened and his last words were, "I am glad to die." (1553)
3. Though Edward was raised Catholic, he later became a Protestant.
4. He knew three other languages besides English, including French, Spanish and Italian.
5. Died at the young age of 15 (1553)

1. Mary was engaged to be married, aged 2 and a half years old, to the French dauphin.
2. With her mother, Catherine of Aragon’s guidance, Mary was highly educated and widely praised for her accomplishments.
3. Throughout her life, Mary loved to gamble.
4. She was the first ever woman to be crowned queen of England.
5. she was called bloody mary for killing many protestants.

Henry's Act of Supremacy was repealed (1554) in the reign of his staunchly Catholic daughter, Mary I. It was reinstated by Mary's Protestant half-sister, Elizabeth I, when she ascended the throne. Elizabeth declared herself Supreme Governor of the Church of England, and instituted an Oath of Supremacy, requiring anyone taking public or church office to swear allegiance to the monarch as head of the Church and state. Anyone refusing to take the oath could be charged with treason
