    The Franks go into hiding after receiving an order for Margot to report to a forced labor camp. They hide in the attic rooms above Mr. Frank's workplace with the help of close friends. Another family, The Van Pels (called the Van Daans from her diary), joins them followed by Fritz Pfeffer ("Dussel"), months later.

  • Discovered

    The hiding place of the Frank's is discovered and the families are arrested.

  • Deported

    All eight of those who hid in the attic are deported from the Netherlands to Auschwitz death camp.

    Anne and Margot die of the disease typhus in the Bergan-Belsen concentration camp.
