Anne Frank was born to Otto and Edith Frank in Frankfurt Germany on June 12,1929.

Anne's father moves her family to Amsterdam as Hitler and The Nazis come to power in Germany. Nazi's began committing violent acts on Jews and many Jews leave Germany. Otto starts a business in the Netherlands and Anne lives a normal life.

Anne get a diary for her 13th birthday. She writes to Kitty and other friends.

The Frank family goes into hiding when Anne's older sister Margot is called to go to a labour camp.

The Frank family is joined in hiding by another jewish family, the Van Pels. A jewish dentist named Fritz Pfeffer also joins the families in the Secret Annex. The Van Pels are given two rooms of the house and Fritz shares a room with Anne.

Anne's secret annex is discovered two years after she went into hiding by the Nazi's after an unknown informer gives her hiding spot away. The families in hiding are all arrested.

Anne and the rest of the people in the Secret Annex were first taken to Auschwitz. The men were sent to the camp Auschwitz I, and Anne was sent with the other women to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp.

Anne was later taken to a different camp in Northern Germany called Bergen-Belsen. The conditions of the camp were very bad and there was little food. Anne and her sister both died after catching typhus. There was little information about Anne's last days.

Anne's father is the only person from the Secret Annex to survive and he returns home. He is later given Anne's diary and he debates whether to publish it.

Otto decided to publish Anne's diary and it became very popular very quickly. Her book "The Secret Annex" was sold out and second editions were printed just six months after the book was released. The diary is even turned into a Hollywood film in 1959.
