  • Battle of New Orleans

    In 1815 Andrew Jacksonled the American army at the Battle of New Orleans, which was the largest victory, and ended the War of 1812.

    In 1824 Andrew Jackson won the popular vote but no one won th electorial vote,the constitution required the house of representitivesto choose the president, and with the help of Henery Clay Adams won.
  • Election of 1828

    In 1828 Andrew Jackson ran for president,and won easily, because of his suport for the common people.
  • Jacksonian Democracy

    In 1828 Jackson introduced the Jacksonian Democracy which was run by the people for the people.

    In 1829 Jackson fired most of congress and replaced them with his friends in order to pass his laws.
  • Indian Removal Act

    In 1830 Jackson passed the Indian Removal Act which moved all of the natives to reserves in Oklahoma.
  • Nullification Crisis

    In 1830 the Southerners were unhappy with the tarrifs on British farm equipment because they needed the equipment for farming and they were losing money and decided to nullify the tarrif.
  • Worchester v. Georgia

    In 1832 the Cherokee wanted to remain on their land and asked the Surpreme Court to help them keep their land, John Marshall agreed with them, but Jackson ignored the ruling.
  • War on the Bank

    In 1832 Jackson refused to renew the chartter for the national bank and went to war with the bank to get rid of the bank.
  • Trail of Tears

    In 1836 Jackson sent troops to Georgia to drive out the Cherokee while it was winter and many Cherokee died while traveling to the reserve.
