  • Recieves His First Gun

    Image Kyle's father bought him his first rifle at 8 years old. It was a bolt-action .30-06 Springfield rifle, with which they hunted deer, pheasant, and quail. This was the beginning of Kyle's love for firearms.
  • Graduates High School

    In 1992, Chris Kyle graduated from McAllen High School and went into the rodeo business. He became a professional bronco rider, and then became a ranch hand. He developed even more respect for nature and learned patience on the ranch.
  • Joins the Navy

    Image In 1999, Chris Kyle enlisted with the Navy and recieved and invitation to BUDS training. This was the beginning of his 10 year career in the armed services.

    In Kyle's 10 year military career, he had 160 confirmed kills and 255 alleged kills. He recieved 2 silver stars and 5 bronze stars.
  • First Kill as a Sniper

    Image In the initial invasion of Iraq, Kyle was charged with the overwatch of a group of marines clearing a road. He saw a woman with a grenade moving towards the marines and shot her. This was an awakening to Kyle about the brutality of war.
  • The Battle of Fallujah

    The Battle of Fallujah, Kyle's second major battle, was where he bacame proficient at sniping. He aquired 40 confirmed kills during its duration.
  • The Battle of Ramadi

    Image In this battle, Chris kyle was so feared by the insurgents that they called him "Al-Shaitan Ramad" which translates to "The Devil of Ramadi" Kyle also had a $20,000 bounty placed on him that was later raised to $80,000.
  • Longest Shot

    Chris Kyle was just ouside of Sadr City and saw a man pointing a rocket propelled grenade at a group of marines a good distance away. Kyle shot the man and confirmed his longest kill at 2,100 yards.
  • Leaves the Navy

    In 2009, Chris Kyle was honorably discharged from the Navy. He then went home to his wife and 2 children, ending his career in the armed services.

    Image In February 2013, Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield took Eddie Routh, a former Marine, to a shooting range in order to help him with his post-traumatic stress disorder. Routh shot and killed both Kyle and Littlefield, and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
