    Magna Carta
    The Magna Carta was an English document that limited the King's power. This document guaranteed the nobles rights. Because of this English document, limited government was established and we still use it in government today.
  • Jamestown

    Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement in America during the year 1607. Colonists had come to America expecting to find gold and wealth. An elected group was established here called the Virgina House of Burgessess. This had lead to representative government in th US today.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was a event where 342 chests of tea were thrown into the Boston Harbor. Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty were rsponsible for tossing the tea over. In result of this, the Coercive Acts of 1774 were passed.

    British troops are sent to confiscate colonial weapons, they run into an untrained & angry miltia.This ragtag army defeats 700 British soldiers & the surprise victory bolsters & for the war ahead. Because of this battle, the colonists formally won their independence.

    This fundamental document established the United States as a nation, adopted on July 4, 1776. This document was ordered and approved by the Continental Congress and written largely by Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration of Independence has declared the US to be independent of the British Crown.

    Shays Rebellion is the name given to a series of protests in 1786 and 1787 by American farmers against state and local enforcement of tax collections and judgements for debt. This event greatly alarmed politicians throughout the nation. Shays Rebellion figured prominently in the debates of ratifying the Constitution.
