    Christopher Columbus discovers America
    Christopher Columbus wanted to find an easier route to the Indies and thought that heading west would be quicker. After getting a grant from Spain, Columbus took three ships west. After a long journey he made it to America, leading to more conquests.

    The thirteen colonies were the British colonies in America.The northern colonies or new england colonies were very religious and mainly worked as small farmers and fisherman. The middle colonies were known for religious tolerance and an abundance of grain. The southern colonies were settled by wealthy British families and relied heavily on slave labor.

    The American colonists go to war with Britain for their freedom. General George Washington was the person who mainly led the colonists. The Americans were allied with France and Spain and the British with the Hessians. In the end the British surrendered and the Americans were victorious.

    After the president Thomas Jefferson purchased the Louisana purchase from Napolean he sent Lewis and Clark to explore it. They hired Sakagewea as their guide with her husband. They found many different types of plants and animals and traded with Indians.

    The Missouri Compromise was a bill passed that was meant to keep the slave states and free states equal. It specifically made Missouri a slave state and Maine a free state.

    After the Kansas-Nebraska act was pass pro-slavery settlers moved to Kansas to spread slavery. This angered many anti-slavery supporters. So a man named John Brown went to Kanasas and fought for no slavery. Overall about 56 people died.
