The day I was born.

Our mission team traveled to an area known as Placencia Belize, where we set up a day camp for children and a youth group. This involved organizing games, activities, discussions and forming relationships.

For my grade 12 year I was placed in a leadership role and became the captain of my senior basketball team. I learned how to be a leader both on and off the court.

I volunteered over lunch hour to help teach elementary students basic basketball and volleyball skills.

My first solo adventure! From two months I traveled through the countries of Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. I became submerged in a culture outside of my own and fell in love with exploring diversity.

Our team returned to Placencia Belize to run day camps for children. This time I took a leadership role and helped organize and ensure we had proper supplies each day and that things ran smoothly.

For two summers I coached U8 soccer in my hometown. This experience was a true test and helped me learn how to manage, engage and communicate with children in a P.E. setting.

First day of college! I was enrolled in pre-optometry but made last minute switch into education. I loved children and loved helping people, I knew this was the right choice.

I travelled to Europe for 2 months and visited the countries of Ireland, Spain, Greece, Slovakia and Czech.

Getting into the Middle Years program was beyond exciting! This program would force me to step outside my comfort zone.

My very first practicum. This experience helped me discover where my niche was as a teacher and what kind of teacher I want to be.

I completed my first yoga teacher training in Costa Rica. I traveled to Montezuma and spent a month doing yoga in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
