    Born in Mcallen Texas a predominately hispanic area, the location is which I am born in help shape my ideology. We lived in a rural part of town where the nearest Walmart was 45 minutes away. I was forced to think creatively when wanting to past time at home. At school i noticed the impact on where one lives, I spoke differently and my method in completing task were more rugged than everyone else.

    I moved to a different district because my mom became a principal at a middle school at the same district. I was faced with making a new life. during my first year at my new high school I was timid and shy, it wasn't till my second year where I grew out of my comfort shell. This yearlong experience taught how to face adversity. I am now able to adapt to new situations, and make myself known within reason.

    This was the first real opportunity I had at a leadership role. My senior year taught me a lot. I matured and became more self aware. I noticed optics matter in earning respect. Changing the way I carried myself outside of band made a huge difference.

    My first year in college was spent in a school I did not want to attend, when it turned out I did not have enough funds to attend a school away from home, my only other option was a community college at home. The stigma of Community Colleges weighing less than a University made me feel as though I was not on the track. I somehow ended up failing when I just started. Looking back at it now, I am grateful for my time at STC, it taught me humility.

    Working for Amazon was a big step in my career. In a point where I already had two jobs to help pay for school I took on the task as a remote marketing manager. Working for Amazon changed my work ethic. I was proved wrong in how resilient I am when faced with multiple ventures. This chapter changed the my method of interaction with others and showed me how using the people around me as resources can help ease the work load.

    My work atmosphere changed when I got promoted to corporate office for a company. My culture was developed in the aspect of patience. I understood how to interact with people in a different climate. My values in appreciating people thoughts and opions was changed.

    It was when I graduated college when I truly started noticing who I spend most of my time with, effects my view of life and ethics. I started hangin out with people who wanted me to succeed and I found myself pushing for them. My culture in regards to work ethic took a positive shift.

    I got a job as a teacher. Fast forward after all the intense teacher trainings, my second day of working with students was starting to feel grim. The feeling of not being able to take on a new role and be successful right away was confusing me. I had never been in a position, where I felt incompetent. By the third day I felt I had made the wrong choice. I had to learn how to have patience with myself. This point in my life I grew as an employee but as-well as simply.. a person.

    Into my second year of teaching I decided I wanted to further my education to better service the students I teach. If applying I was hesitant, but I always tell my students you can achieve anything you have the desire for. This was a practice what you preach moment for me. I took the chance and submitted my application two weeks before classes started!

    In the lastest of ventures in my career, I applied to be a STEM coordinator for my campus and got the job. The confidence I have in myself has increased, due to the fact that leaders above me are trusting I am capable in fulfilling the job duties.
