  • Indian Rebellion

    This is know to some as the first time that India fought for independance.
  • East India Company

    The East India Company was the power and authority in India.
  • Mahatma Gandhi's Birth

    Gandhi was born in Porbandar, which is in West Bengal, India
  • The start of the Hindu Indian National Congress

    The Hindu Indian National Congress was made to get rid of the foreign rulers.
  • Ghandi Travels to South Africa

    Ghandi goes to South Africa, but he isnt treated how he is used to and he gets thrown off the train. This is a very important moment for Gandhi and his realization.
  • Ghandi gets beaten for the first time.

    Ghandi gets beaten by a mob of europeans, and gets saved by a woman who gets between them.
  • The start of The Muslim League

    The Muslim League is created with the same pourpose of getting rid of foreign leaders. This group opposed europeans but showed no sign of violence. "Do not fight back, just dont do it."
  • Ghandi returns to India.

    Gandhi returns to India after being in South Africa.
  • Indian Troops come home

    Indian troops come home from the war.
  • The Rowlatt Act

    The Rowlatt act passes, sending lots of protestors to jail for as long as 2 years with no trial.
  • Armitsar Massacre

    Over 1000 Indians are killed by the British government for no real reason.
  • Civil Disobedience

    The Congress Party starts to endorse civil disobedience, in other words they want people to disobey the british law.
  • The Salt Act

    Gandhi organizes a march to defy the Salt Act which everyone hated. The salt act stated that it was illegal for Indians to produce or make their own salt.
  • Ghandi Fasts For The First Time

    Gandhie fasts to promote and bring to attention how people unfairly treat the untouchables.
  • Government of India Act

    The British ogvernment passes an act that states that India will have its own government but they are still not granting it full independance.
  • 'Quit India' Campaign

    Gandhi launches the 'Quit India' Campaign Decalring Indias independance from the British. Gandhi is imprisoned for this.
  • India is Independent

    India is finally granted self rule from Great Britain.
  • Gandhi's Death

    Gandhi is shot while he was on his way to to evening prayers by a member of a hindu organization.
