The first 10 amendments added to the constitution. This granted less power to the government and more freedoms to the citizens or people. -
The U.S passes a tax on whiskey
Was the first tax on a product by the newly formed federal government. They taxed the people to help pay for the revolutionary war, let’s just say the people did not like the tax. People would not buy the whiskey because corn would have cost less and they could make whiskey by themself. -
Whiskey Rebellion
After the tax on whiskey the settlers rebelled against the new government. This gave the government the opportunity to establish authority and boundaries on the state and its people.this rebellion was later named the whiskey rebellion. -
Political parties established
1796 was the year of the first election where anyone on a national basis could run for president. Eventually people started to get into political parties. -
Fries Rebellion
The government placed a tax on property and fries led other Pennsylvanians in a revolt against this tax.He was eventually caught and sentenced to death, however president George Washington pardoned him an his group. -
War of 1812
The war was a conflict between Britain the U.S. This war happened because of Britain having restrictions on the U.S trade and America’s desire to expand it’s land. -
The battle of Lake Erie
The battle of lake occurred of the coast Ohio’s coast. Nine U.S vessels defeated and cloture 6 British ships. This war was a part of the war of 1812, they were fraught for the same reasons. -
Treaty of Ghent
This treaty would end the war of 1812-1814. Both Britain and the U.S signed this peace treaty in Ghent which is in the Netherlands. -
Battle of New Orleans.
The U.S won one of it’s greatest wins at New Orleans. The U.S defeated British after they tried to gain a critical port this elevated general Andrew Jackson to fame.
