  • TCP/IP protocol NSF:

On January 1 all parts of Arpanet and connected networks were officially converted using the TCP/IP every part of the network could use the same method of communicating and data transfer at a fundamental level
  • Domain mane addressing system

Originally users of Arpanet would contact other members of the network using telephone numbers they would dial into an individual computer and that would be the network they could access.
  • Search engines

The first search engine was created in 1990 by an American university student. called Archie, it’s aim was to archive and and search for information over the internet, at the highest Pont it was reported to hold 150 gigabits of data, (witch at the time was a huge amount), but if this is compered with the 20 000 terabytes that Google process daily is very small
