    The election was between Jefferson and whos running mate was Burr and Adams whos running mate was Pinckney.The race was very close Jefferson took over 8 states and Adams took over 7. The race was close in everything except popular vote. Jefferson had 41,330 votes and Adams had 25,952 votes. Jefferson and Burr tied for first place so another vote had to be taken and Jefferson won! Jefferson was then our new president.
  • Marbury v. Madison Supreme Court Decision

    Marbury v. Madison Supreme Court Decision
    The final decision was decided that Marbury had the right to the money but no one could force Madison to hand over the money. They did also rule though that the Judiciary Act of 1789 was unconstitiutional.

    The Louisiana Purchase was a purchase the United States made by buying land from france for 60 million francs. This is land that makes up 14 current states and 2 Candian Provinces. The purchase was also made so France would not block trade.
  • Lewis & Clark reach the Pacific Ocean

    Lewis & Clark reach the Pacific Ocean
    When Lewis and Clark arrived at the mouth of the columbia they then found out there was no northwest passage. When they continued on their journey up the missouri they experienced horrible cataracts and more wave distruction and disturbances than ever before. Lewis and Clark were the first people ever to ever conduct an overlap expedition and even though they did not find the water passage way they did accomplish other things.

    The Treaty of Ghent was a peace treaty between the United States, United Kingdom and Ireland that was signed to end the war of 1812. The treaty was also to give back everything to its rightful owner and release all the pisinors. One problem that occured though was that it took weeks for people to know the treaty had been signed and a war had already began.

    Andrew Jackson Elected President (1st Term)
    Jackson was elected to be president in 1828 but became president in 1829. Jackson was known for his victory you could see just in him him self. Jackson was the seventh president of the United States and is the president who made some changes such as he believed politicians did not have to be educated plus he began a certain era where politicians would amitt they had very little money.
