    A treaty to keep peace with the Sioux. The Sioux settled in the Dakota territory.

    Battle of Little Bighorn
    Custer made an army of soldiers of over 250 people. He was looking for a big victory but ended up being defeted. Custer was scouting the Native Americans territory. Custer and thousands of other people lost their lives.

    A tradition by the Sioux. Their culture was dying. Eventually police took the chief from the Sioux,Sitting Bull,and arrested him and killed him.

    An army went to gather the Sioux's weapons. When the first shot went off, the battle began. Over 200 soldiers were killed. The conflict between the Native Americans and the whites were over.

    The Black Hills were rumored to have gold. Custer went into the hills to check the rumor and it was true. Sitting Bull and the Sioux protested because white people were not allowed to settle in the area or even pass through.
