    March 4, 1801 Thomas Jefferson beats John Adams in becoming to President of the United States. This is significant in history because this is when Thomas Jefferson became President of the United States
  • New York post

    November 16, 1801 The first New York Evening Post is printed. The New York Post is known as the nation's oldest published newspaper that comes out daily. Alexander Hamilton is the founder of the post.
  • military academy

    March 16, 1802 United States Military Academy is created in West Point. George Washington thought that West Point was the most important position in America. West Point is the oldest occupied military post in America.
  • marbury vs. madison

    Febuary 11, 1803 Marbury vs. Madison. This is a court case, Marbury was a midnight judge for the last very few minutes of Adam being President. Madison won't give marbury his job that he promised him Madison becomes mad at sues Murbury. Supreme court rules that Marbury's job is illegal
  • Louisiana purchase

    April 30, 1803 The Louisiana purchase is made in the United States from France. The total cost for the Louisiana purchase was 15 million dollars. The Louisiana purchase contained 14 current United States and Canadian provinces.
  • Haiti gains independence

    January 1, 1804 Haiti gets Independence from France. Haiti becomes the first black republic, having a successful slave revolt. The slave revolt caused napelon to sell the Louisana purchase.

    June 15, 1804 The 12th amendment was created. In the 12th amendment it has information about the President and the Vice president getting elected. It replaced article two section one.
  • Michigan territory

    January 11, 1805 Michigan territory is created. The European explorers saw it as a place where they could trade fur. The Michigan territory after the Europeans came, the territory got under British and French control.
  • Prohibits slaves

    March 2,1807 Prohibits slaves. Congress passed an act that slaves can not be brought in to the United States from any other countries or foreign lands
  • Fur Comapany

    The American Fur company. The company was made by John Jacob the company soon became the largest business in the entire country. The company ended up going out of business in 1842.
  • James Madison and Charles C.Pinckney

    November 23, 1808 James Madison beats Charles C. Pinckney in United States presidential election.
