  • My Uncle Was Addicted

My uncle got addicted to heroin when I was 10 years old. Taking heroin would be an example of an extremely risky behavior. The book says, "However, there are risks that can be dangerous to a person’s health or the health of others" (8).
  • He Fell In With The Wrong Crowd

The people around my uncle were also addicted. The book says, "peer pressure...includes a sense of wanting to belong and 'fit in'. No one likes to feel isolated or alone..." (9).
  • He Reached Out After A Scare With The Law

After almost getting caught, my uncle reached out to my family to help him quit. He was really afraid of the law and he never wanted to go to prison. The book says, "It's really important that as a young person you consider the legal implications of any decisions you are thinking of making" (10).
