Bismark's Rise to Power
Bismark was the head of the Prussian cabinet. He was conservative politician. He built up the Prussian army wanting to expand their territory. he was very determinded and because of him, Germaqny became a major power. -
Danish War
It was a war between Prussia and Austria against Denmark over the new Dansih constituion, They fought for three months and then Denmark gave up. A peace treaty gave Austria and prussia an equal share of Schleswig and Holstein. But Austria wanted two seprate places so Austria got Holstein and Prussia got Schleswig. -
The Seven Week's War
Austria delcared war on Prussia over the conflict between Schleswig and Holstein. Prussia became so advanced that they defeated Austria in 7 weeks. The Treaty of Prague ended the war and concluded that the German Confederation was disolved. -
The Franco-Prussian War
The French declared war on Prussia because Bismark changed a telegram to the French ambassador insulting him. Prussia defeated the French in few months. They made a treaty and now most of France was controled by German troops. -
Formation of the German Empire
The Greman staqtes met up and declared they were all a part of the German Empire except Austria. Then they made a constitution that united the german statres in a federal form of government. Letting every state have a ruler and control their own matters.
