    The gold rush brought thousands of white settlers to the Cheyenne's and Arapoho's home land. This made the native americans angery, so they began attacking the settlers(attaking wagons,mining camps,and stage coaches. When the indians surrendered, promising peace, the troops were still ordered to attack the indians. Some of the indians managed to get away across the river.

    This war was a victory for the Lakota indians. The Fetterman Massacre is also known as the Red Cloud's war. It's called Red Cloud's War, because Red Cloud was the Native American " chief who led the war against the United States following encroachment into the area by the U.S. military."

    This was an agreement between the United States and four different indian tribes. This treaty "ensured the civilization". When gold prospecters crossed the boarder and violated the treaty, the indians attacked them. Then because of what the indians did a war broke out. Later, the Native Americans and the United States went to court. It was a victory for the Indians. The Indians were offered money, but they wanted their land back from the US.

    A ship known as "Blood Hound". It was a wooded whaling ship. This ship was made for artic exploration. The boat was meant to go to the north pole.

    A victory for the Native americans(Cheyenne) who were lead by Sitting Bull. They defeated a troop of seven hundred. The Battle of Little Big Horn is also known as "Custer's Last Stand.". Custered was killed, along with other family members. This battle really didnt do anything to harm the Indians population.

    The ghost is a religious ritual, the indians firts learned this from a peaceful white man named Jack Wilson. The native americans knew him as Wovoka. Jack told people of "clean living, an honest life, and crossed -cultural cooperation.". After Jack Wilson taught the Native Americans, the ritual quickly spread through the west.
  • WOUNDED KNEE

    WOUNDED KNEE
    350 troops who had four Hotchkiss guns(light weight guns) surrounded two different sioux tribes. The troops were supose to take the tribes to a railroad, where they were going to be taken to Nebraska. The indians agreed to this with out even fighting, until one of their(deaf)tribe members was shot down, which then caused a battle between the native americans and the US troops.
