    Many Native American tribes from all over the Great Plains would fight great many wars with the whites. They tried to take over the Great Plains for themselves. Native Americans would burn and loot white mens homes in the summer of 1862.
  • Sand Creek Massacre

    Sand Creek Massacre
    also known as the Chivington massacre or the Battle of Sand Creek. It was something to do with the Indian Wars of the United States. The Colorado Territory militia attacked and destroyed a little village Cheyenne and Arapaho that was in Colorado Territory. 133 people were killed many men,women,and children died at Sand Creek. 700 soldiers were involved in this awful massacre.

    The captain of this Massacre was named W.J. Fetterman. Fetterman and 80 of his men were involved in protecting a team taking wood to Fort Phil Kearny.When Fetterman wasnt aloud under orders couldnt kill or attack Indians he did anyeway and attacked many Sioux indians.

    It was the last battle between the Whites and Native Americans. The Chief Big Foot and his 350 followers camped by the Wounded Knee Creek. Then got attacked by ficious white soldiers that wanted to take control over them.
