first week of school
During the first 5 days of school, students will listen to George Ella Lyons' poem, 'where i'm from' and create their own. As I, as teacher, compile these poems into a class poem using Voicethread, the students will create a culture box as a way to further introduce themselves. -
day 8
As soon as our voicethread is complete and we have examined all of the culture boxes, I will introduce the concept of an Invitation. We will brainstorm definitions of the word and look at an example on the Smartboard. -

Working on the Invite
This is the week to be considering what type of project the students want to create to share their new knowledge. By the 28th, they should have conferenced with me and come up with a plan of action. -

Arond this date, I will post suggested formats for presentations and ask for other ideas. It will be necessary to book the computer lab for a couple of days to teach Voicethread and Movie Maker programs. -
